Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society has provided free food kits to the bedridden patients of MSK Nagar Colony on 25th May 2024. The kit distributed to 26 patients and these 26 were identified by regular home visits. Fr. Saji Elambasseril SDB ( director of DB veedu Society), Mr. Jeron ( Staff of DB Veedu), were interacted with family members of the beneficiaries. Speaking about the initiative, Fr. Saji Elambasseril SDB emphasized the importance of addressing the nutritional needs of bedridden patients. “Many of these individuals face significant challenges in accessing adequate food, which can exacerbate their health conditions, “By providing these food kits, we hope to not only nourish their bodies but also uplift their spirits and show them that they are not forgotten.” he stated. The project team visited respective homes interacted with them and provided psycho social support to the needy. Volunteers from Don Bosco along with local community leaders and healthcare providers, have been instrumental in identifying eligible beneficiaries and coordinating the distribution process. Door-to-door deliveries ensure that even those with limited mobility can receive the support they desperately need.
The initiative, born out of recognition of the dire need for support among bedridden individuals, aims to provide nutritious food kits tailored to their dietary requirements. These kits contain staples such as rice, lentils, vegetables, cooking oil, and spices, ensuring a balanced diet for those who may struggle to access or afford regular meals. As the distribution of food kits continues in MSK Nagar, Don Bosco’s efforts serve as a shining example of the power of community solidarity and compassion. By extending a helping hand to the most vulnerable members of society, they are not only providing nourishment but also instilling hope for a brighter future.
