The children involved in the SPARK project attended a full-day learning programme at Don Bosco Nivas on January 27th, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eleven kids took part. To begin the session, the kids were split up into two groups.
Under the guidance of the interns, a group of kids learned the fundamentals of Malayalam, including letter recognition. The primary subject of the English education given to the other group of kids was “About Republic Day.” Children were taught copy writing Malayalam letters and about republic day. A Republic Day quiz competition and physical activities were part of the afternoon schedule. There was enough time for the children to go over the questions and prepare for the test. Points were awarded for both group and individual participation in the quiz. Fr. Saji, the Director of the Don Bosco Veedu Society, gave the quiz winners munch in addition to what the winning team received.
