The day was colored with the performance of a “Mime”.   100s of Saplings were distributed to the students of Govt. HSS Kalady.

World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5th June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. It is supported by many non-governmental organizations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations outreach day supporting the environment.  The theme for World Environment Day on 5th June 2023 will focus on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution.

The world is being inundated by plastic. More than 400 million tones of plastic is produced every year, half of which is designed to be used only once. Of that, less than 10 per cent is recycled. An estimated 19-23 million tones end up in lakes, rivers and seas. Today, plastic clogs our landfills, leaches into the ocean and is combusted into toxic smoke, making it one of the gravest threats to the planet.

The children were enthusiastically participated in this program and they all are promised to make the environment clean and will protect it from not using the plastic.  The Mime performance of the children was very interesting and it was theme based.  The teachers, students, Don Bosco Staff were actively participating in this program.

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
