Mr. Pramodh Shenoi (Station Director, IRTS, TVC) inaugurated the program at Platform no.4 and he distributed Piggy banks, Balloons & CHILDLINE brochures to the children who arrives at the Central Station. Also he stated that “all the children start savings now for a better tomorrow. Every girl child is precious and may their journeys happy”. Mr. Joy (SMRC, TVC) and Mr. Manuel George (Program Manager, Don Bosco Veedu Society) delivered felicitation to the program and appreciated the initiative of Railway Child Help Desk to conduct the National Girl Child Day. GRP & RPF officials also participated in this program. The main aim of the day is to raise awareness of the disparities that girls face in a various sectors; including education, employment, clothing, and gender inequality. Railway Childline was able to convey the message to Passengers & Children. The team covered all the platforms and spread the importance of the day and distributed savings box, balloons and CHILDLINE brochures to them.
Railway Childline is an active and an essential part of Childline. The Sensitization programs of this project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
