      We believe the rights of the children, young, women, and the marginalized can be realized only through empowerment. Therefore, we focus on educational, social, economic, and cultural contexts and are policy-oriented.

      Vision: Our Vision is to work as a catalyst in bringing sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged children, youth, and women with a life-cycle approach to development.

      Mission: Our mission is to safeguard the rights, offer care and protection, and empower underprivileged children, youth, and women through education, innovative community-based development projects, and market-focused livelihood programmes.

      Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society is part of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) congregation spread over 133 countries working for the welfare of children and youth, especially those at risk.

      For reflection, sharing, and coordination among those involved in the Salesian ministry for the Young at Risk (YaR) in South Asia, to network with like-minded persons and organizations on behalf of YaR, to influence policies related to the young at risk at the state, national and international levels.

      We have redesigned our logo recently to reflect who we are and what we do and to communicate the same with others. The logo incorporates English and Malayalam alphabets. Just as we reach out to people of multiple ethnicities speaking myriad languages

SPARK

Shaping Potential and Reinforcing Knowledge

SPARK is a transformative educational initiative run by Don Bosco Veedu Society, Trivandrum, aimed at moulding young minds during their crucial schooling years. The project focuses on students from Classes 6, 7, and 8, recognizing this phase as a critical period in shaping their values, discipline, and future aspirations. The program addresses challenges faced by young learners, including vulnerability to negative influences such as substance abuse, alcohol, and unhealthy social behaviors. Through a series of engaging activities and training programs, SPARK provides a positive platform for students to develop holistically.

Project Objectives
  • To provide structured academic support and skill development for students in Classes 6 to 8
  • To create a positive and disciplined learning environment.
  • To equip students with essential life skills and leadership qualities.
  • To guide students in career planning and personal development.


Program Structure

SPARK sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, blending academic lessons with skill development activities. Classes are conducted regularly, including weekends and public holidays, at Don Bosco Nivas.

  • Educational Support: Language and mathematical training to strengthen academic skills.
  • Leadership Training: Focused sessions to develop confidence and leadership abilities.
  • Career Guidance & Counseling: Personalized guidance to help students explore career options and make informed decisions.
  • Life Skills Development: Sessions covering essential life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence.
  • Communicative English Training: Enhancing English language proficiency for better academic and career opportunities.
  • Annual Gathering: A platform for students to showcase their talents and celebrate achievements.
  • Summer Camp: A structured program that combines academic learning with extracurricular activities.
  • Entertainment Programs: Recreational activities to foster creativity and social interaction.
  • Supply of Educational Materials: Providing necessary learning resources to support students’ education.
  • Community Engagement: House visits and home studies to understand and support students’ backgrounds effectively.
