We were going to the Adivasi colony at the Puzhavimala. On the way emerged several isolated Adivasi huts at regular intervals. A child playing by the roadside ran into his house when he saw the jeep climbing down the hill. We halted when we reached his home. His father was doing some work in front of the house. We decided to give them a food kit and some other provisions. Their face lit up as we handed over the food kits. When I looked back at them as we departed, I saw the lady looking at the delivered kit. I am sure she was making mental calculations to manage the coming days with the provisions they had just received.
