WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR 2023

MHD Kottayam in association with DCPU and KSACS organized an awareness session as part of observing World Day against Child Labour for the guest workers of Confident group, Kanjikuzhy.

An event was organised by the Migrant Help Desk Kottayam in collaboration with DCPU (District Child Protection Unit) and KSACS (Kerala State AIDS Control Society). An awareness session was conducted to highlight the plight of children engaged in child labour. The programme took place at the Blueberry Confident group worksite in Kanjikuzhy and witnessed a gathering of approximately 20 guest workers. This programme was part of observing World Day against Child Labour. Firstly, Mr. Baiju Janardanan, Project manager, KSACS took a session on basic hygiene and seasonal diseases occurring these days, followed by a brief session on Child Labour laws in India was taken by Mr. Justin, District Nodal officer, DCPU & Childline. The session was translated by Mr. John, District coordinator, KISMAT, Kottayam. In the end snacks were distributed to migrants.
