Ratheesh conducting calls for children of St. Francis School, Eezhakode

CHILDLINE Trivandrum conducted an awareness session on “Child Issues and The Value of Positive Behaviour” for the students at St. Francis School, Eezhakode. Mr. Retheesh handled the session. Mrs Maya, the Head Mistress, welcomed the participants, and around 74 students and ten teachers participated in the session. Kumari Meenu S, the School Leader, delivered the vote of thanks. The Head Mistress was very supportive and forwarded the counselling cases to CHILDLINE Office.

The role of the parents and peers cannot be overlooked when we speak about positive behaviour among children. Children learn and develop best when they have strong, loving, positive relationships with parents and other close associates. Peer influence is when a child chooses to do something they wouldn’t otherwise do because they want to feel accepted and valued by their friends. It isn’t just or always about doing something against your will. Peer pressure and influence can be positive. But it can be harmful too. The parents and teachers should know who their child’s friends are and what kind of influence they have on them. The children are also responsible for being good friends and choosing healthy friendships.
