Children attending the English session Content

A session was held for the children on the MIRACLE project on November 25, 2023. The session began with a brief meditation session which helped the children improve focus and attention in the next class. English class was taken for the children where their memory of various grammar topics were tested. Activities which helped them improve their four main skills, such as reading, writing, speaking and listening were conducted. Children were given random content to read, after which they had to summarize the content and present it uniquely. In the next activity, the children wrote ‘a day in my life’, resembling a journal, with the help of prompt questions. A story chain was next where the children were given a start to a story in which they had to build a story on their own by taking turns. This improved their imagination as well as their English speaking.
Music classes were taken in the afternoon. Mr. Alen taught keyboard and flute and Mr. Christy taught guitar lessons.
MIRACLE is a project that supports children who are deprived of primary caregivers with the aim of preventing them from entering the system. MIRACLE provides skill training, English training, counseling, and financial assistance for education for 40 children in Trivandrum District.
