Trivandrum Don Bosco veedu Society dedicated to supporting children in need, celebrated the reopening of Anganwadi center at MSK Nagar, Trivandrum. This initiative, in collaboration with local authorities and community leaders, aims to provide essential services to young children and their families. The reopening ceremony was held at the MSK Nagar Anganwadi cente attended by local dignitaries, parents, and enthusiastic children. The program was inaugurated Girija Sudharshan , a retired Anganwadi teacher from Attukal. Mr. Manoj( Residets association secretary), Mr. Mohnanan ( Ward Counselor of Kuriyathi), Mrs. Rajitha( MSK Nagar Anganwadi Teacher), Mr. Jeron ( Staff of Don Bosco) were present on the ceremony.
A total of 25 children attended the reopening, with 15 being newcomers and 10 returning students. As part of the ‘NallaPadam 2024′ program, staff and students from Chinmaya Vidhyalaya distributed books to the children, promoting educational growth. Additionally, Don Bosco Nivas provided Tiffin boxes, mats, and fruits, responding to the residents’ needs.
The ceremony included a special tribute to retired teacher Mrs. Beena Sudharshan for her dedicated service in developing MSK Nagar. Presentation by Mr. Jeron from Don Bosco highlighted about various projects and services, including counselling and a child helpline ( CHILLINE 1098) to ensure the safety and development of children.
Anganwadi centers are not just about education; they are also vital in providing nutritional support and health services to children and pregnant women. The reopening of these centers signifies a step forward in combating malnutrition and ensuring the well-being of the community. As the ceremony concluded, the smiles on the faces of the children and their families were a testament to the positive impact of the Anganwadi centers. The reopening marks a new beginning, filled with hope and opportunities for the youngest members of the community.
