A Summer Camp Focused on Edutainment and Empowerment

Igniting young minds:Spark 2024 summer camp at Don Bosco Veedu

In a bid to foster both learning and enjoyment for children during the summer vacation, Don Bosco Veedu, an organization dedicated to the welfare of children and women empowerment, has launched an exciting initiative named SPARK 2K24. This innovative summer camp aims to combine education and entertainment, ensuring a holistic experience for the participating children.Commencing on April 15, 2024, at Sahaya Matha Church, Manacaud, the camp is being jointly administered by esteemed individuals including Father Saji, Director of Don Bosco Veedu; Dn. Feric, Camp Chief; Mr. Rony Thomas, Camp Coordinator; and Brother Arun.
The inauguration ceremony kicked off with a morning prayer at 9:30 am, followed by an inspirational speech from Father Jiji, emphasizing the importance of determination and not underestimating anyone. Father Dominic elaborated on the camp’s objective, aiming to ignite a spark of success in every child’s life, drawing parallels to Thomas Alva Edison’s perseverance in inventing the light bulb despite numerous failures.Throughout the day, the children participated in various activities ranging from language-based exercises to team-building games, fostering camaraderie and skill development. Lunch was provided for all participants, ensuring no child went hungry, exemplifying the camp’s commitment to inclusivity and care.
In the afternoon, co-curricular activities commenced, with children grouped into teams for interactive games and challenges. The day concluded with a reflection on the day’s events, as children were given responsibilities for physical arrangements and provided with refreshments. A committee meeting was held to discuss future plans and strategies for upcoming camps

reflecting the commitment of the organizers to continuous improvement and innovation. The overwhelming response from the children underscored the success of the camp, which was characterized by energy, enthusiasm, and a conducive learning environment.
