                                                            An 13 year old boy studies eighth standard at poonthura, Thiruvananthapuram. His family consists of his mother and three younger siblings. One year ago, his father abandoned him and his family. The boy was lived at a community which was very highly vulnerable to drug substances uses. So he started to use drugs such as  cool, ahohol, Cigarettes, cannabis, beedi, MDMA, syringes from his sixth standard onwards.  The main problems child faced when using drug substances was  impaired sleep pattern and loss of appetite, stealing behaviour and lack of interest in his academics. So the boy was admitted  at Don Bosco Nivas, Thampanoor as per the order from Child Welfare Committee. The Don Bosco Nivas DREAM Project counsellor, Ms. Anooja. R provided the counselling to the child. Slowly counsellor turns to an good friend of the boy and he started to share his problems and issues faced. When he stayed at shelter home he had cravings for drugs and seen physical and psychological problem as a result of his withdrawal symptoms. The Counsellor had provided the psycho- education about the importance of De-addiction treatment. The boy wants to withdraw this behaviour of using drug and had an insight of his own condition. So he ready to go under an de-addiction treatment. Then  the case was referred to Don Bosco Sadan for  treatment.
