Spreading awareness about drug abuse to parents

Understanding the vital role of parents in creating changes in the life of students and reducing the prevalence of drugs among them, DREAM Trivandrum conducted an awareness programme for the parents of UP and High School Students at St Roch’s Convent School. Around 650 parents attended the awareness programme.

DREAM Trivandrum organized the programme as part of the Parents’ Training Awareness series. The team distributed the handouts to the parents, highlighting the consequences of drug abuse. Ms. Neha Joseph, DREAM District Coordinator and Ms Anooja R, District Counsellor, took the session for the parents and explained that awareness about this issue was the need of the hour. 

DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) is a project initiated by Don Bosco Veedu Society and Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society. The project focuses on reducing the access to and use of drugs among school and college students by creating awareness and providing counselling services and de-addiction services.
