The Spark programme launched its latest edition on Saturday with an inspiring two-part session designed to nurture self-awareness and resilience among young learners. Nineteen students from classes below 10th gathered for the inaugural day, which seamlessly built upon the themes introduced in the previous “Unique” module.
The morning session, led by Fr. Thomas Meckadan, delved into the concept of maladaptation—a condition where individuals struggle to adjust to shifting social or environmental expectations. Through relatable anecdotes and open dialogue, Fr. Meckadan guided students to reflect on the delicate balance between adapting to change and preserving one’s authentic identity. “Being true to yourself doesn’t mean resisting growth,” he reminded the group. “It means growing in a way that honors who you are.”
In the afternoon, Mr. Akhil Devasia took the helm with a compelling exploration of Success—not as a static achievement, but as an ongoing journey fueled by purpose, resilience, and inner alignment. Drawing from his own professional journey, Mr. Devasia challenged the notion that success is defined by accolades or external approval. “Real success begins when your daily choices reflect your deepest values,” he asserted.
A highlight of the session was an interactive Group Discussion (GD), where students passionately debated evolving definitions of success in today’s fast-paced world. Mr. Devasia encouraged respectful discourse, active listening, and collaborative thinking—skills vital not only for academic excellence but for meaningful engagement in society. Participants emerged with sharpened critical thinking abilities and a renewed appreciation for empathy and inclusivity as cornerstones of collective achievement.
The Spark programme, known for its holistic approach to youth development, continues to provide a safe and stimulating space for students to explore life’s big questions—equipping them not just to succeed, but to thrive with integrity and purpose.
