Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline organised a sensitization programme for the Taxi drivers at the Central Railway Station. In this program, Ms. Roshma Mary T. S. (Counselor, RCHD) imparted the knowledge on the topic of “CHILDLINE and its Activities”. The main aim of the session was about to create awareness among taxi drivers in the area of CHILDLINE, its activities, functioning and child rights. If any child found in distress situation, should immediately contact to the CHILDLINE. The Taxi Driver’s acts as Secondary stake holders in the Railway Station and this session make aware about them to how to easily identify the children who are in distress situation. They are total of 18 Taxi Drivers and 4 RCHD staff participated in this program. The pamphlets were distributed to them by Mrs. Beena, Mr. Sajeev and Mrs. Thahira (Team members, RCHD). After the session the taxi drivers shared their experiences and assured their support to the Railway CHILDLINE. They also expressed gratitude towards the program.
Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
