Channelizing the energy of students towards productive activities is an effective method to keep students away from drugs and other substance abuse. DREAM Trivandrum conducted an essay competition among the students of Government Girls’ High School, Venganoor and organised an awareness programme as part of the same initiative on September 24, 2022. The Head Mistress of Government Girls High School, Venganoor, handed over the prizes. The team members of DREAM Trivandrum handled the awareness sessions.
The programme was initiated as part of the second phase of awareness programmes of DREAM. Ms Neha Joseph, DREAM District Coordinator and Ms Anooja R, District Counsellor, interacted with the students and made the sessions more resourceful. During the session, discussions were held on various topics, such as the physical and psycho-social implications of drugs among students.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) is a project initiated by Don Bosco Veedu Society and Banglore Rural Education and Development Society. The project focuses on reducing the access to and use of drugs among school and college students. The project envisions creating an impact through three phases of activities.
