On September 17, 2024, Project IMPACT celebrated Onam and held its official inauguration at Don Bosco, Trivandrum. The event featured a beautiful ‘Pookkalam’ made by the students, highlighting their creativity and teamwork.
Fr. Jiji Kalavanal, the Rector of Don Bosco Trivandrum, inaugurated the event. In his address, he emphasized the importance of education in our lives and spoke about Onam as a festival of joy, prosperity, and unity, encouraging everyone to come together as a community.
Fr. Saji Elambasseril, (Administrator of Don Bosco Trivandrum), and Fr. Joby Sebastian (Director of Don Bosco Veedu Trivandrum) also shared their messages, inspiring students to embrace both education and the spirit of Onam. Faculty members congratulated the IMPACT team, fostering a sense of support and community.
The celebration included various cultural performances by students and faculty, showcasing the rich traditions of Onam. Notable participants included Mr. Arjun M, Mr. Lipson Raju, Ms. Gopika, Ms. Aiswarya RJ, Ms. Rakendu Raj, Dr. Godson Noel, Mr. Manuel George (Program Manager), Ms. Anmy Therese Joseph (IMPACT Coordinator), Mr. Arun Marie (Caretaker, Don Bosco Shelter Home), and Mr. Thomas Merton (Media Coordinator).
Students enthusiastically participated in cultural activities and traditional games. The program concluded at 5:00 PM, with payasam distributed to all attendees, leaving everyone with joyful memories.
