Palakkad Migrants Help Desk worked with Palakkad South Janamithri Police in spreading the awareness among the guest workers on the hazards side of Tobacco and also on the major techniques to abstain from the tobacco at the outset of observing World No Tobacco Day at Prince Roller Flour Mills, Palakkad.
The program began with the welcome note of Shri. Subramanian (HR, Prince Roller Flour Company) where he declared the company campus as No Tobacco Zone and exhorted the inmates to fully abstain from all type of tobacco in the company premises. The program was inaugurated by Shri. Arumukan, SI of Palakkad South Police with an advice to the guest workers that no to victim carriers of any type of drugs or tobaccos under the influence anybody else or not use them for the temporary pleasure. Thereafter KISMAT district coordinator Shri. Shnaoy P M took awareness session on the major Hazards of Tobacco and how one can prevent from using the tobacco. Mrs. Sumathimuttyamma, SI Palakkad Janamithri police spoke of the legal side of the drugs carriage and use. There were about 40 ISMS took part in it and most of them are from Bihar.
This program really created an awareness among the guest workers on the reality that bring to those who are addicted to the tobacco and also the picturized presentation helped them to understand severity of pain and suffering adhered with the tobacco use. The program also offered opportunity to take pledge no to use any type of tobacco in the future.
