DREAM Trivandrum organised a week-long programme, titled MOCHANA, an anti-drug week awareness program in connection with Gandhi Jayanti. The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Saji Elambaseril, Director of Don Bosco Veedu Society, on September 27, 2022. The programme was held at SMV Government Model HSS, followed by an awareness session for the students. The second programme of MOCHANA was conducted at Government High School, Kamaleswaram, as a counselling drive. And through that, the services of the project were spread to the students.
On September 29, a social awareness drive was conducted with the help of the SPC cadets of Government High School, Thonnakal. On the same day, DREAM Trivandrum, in collaboration with Government High School, Poovar, formed a students’ chain, and the programme was inaugurated by Mr. M Vincent, MLA, Kovalam constituency. As part of this campaign, DREAM Trivandrum conducted an awareness programme for the beat officers of Janamytri police under Trivandrum city.
DREAM Trivandrum was able to spread awareness to a mass audience through different activities on the impact of drugs on students and various groups.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) is a project initiated by the Don Bosco Veedu Society and Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society that focuses on reducing the prevalence of drugs among school and college students. The project envisions creating an impact through three phases of activities.
