Children celebrating the success of ‘Finspire’

The annual Inter-Care Home Cultural Fest, Finspire, is the flagship event of the Finastra Trivandrum Purpose and Impact team, held in collaboration with the Helping Hands Organisation. The Finastra Trivandrum ESG team is leading this lovely initiative to even greater heights as it launches its fourth edition. Finspire is a special place where kids from challenging and diverse backgrounds can come together, interact, learn, and develop—and most importantly, have a great time. Events both on and off stage were happening at the same time.

This year, on October 29, 2023, at the Travancore Convention Centre in Kariyavattom, the fourth “FINSPIRE” was held. This year, ten homes from all around Trivandrum participated. The 4th Finspire was formally inaugurated by Dr. Mariya Umman, an esteemed social worker and assistant director at EY. Giving up when the programme is about to get underway, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Competitions in many artistic disciplines were held, including dance, drama, music, and much more. Children from Miracle and Don Bosco Nivas took part in the fest. They took part in storytelling, recitation, painting, mime, adaptation, synchronized dancing, group songs, painting, and storytelling. They also made greeting cards. At 6:30 p.m., the closing ceremony began. The special guests were Smt. Shanifa.C., the chair of the Trivandrum Child Welfare Committee, and Shri. Akhil V. Menon IAS, the Assistant Collector. They conveyed their joy at being a part of the event and mentioned how the fest gives children a chance to show off their skills and fosters unity and camaraderie through constructive competition. Don Bosco bagged First prize for group song and adaptune; second place for versification, mime, and greeting card making.

 Overall, the children from Don Bosco, after competing with 9 other child-care institutions, secured third place. The children were filled with joy and excitement. The fest was exhilarating for the kids as it gave them a chance to show off their abilities and improve their skills. 

MIRACLE is a project that supports children who are deprived of primary caregivers with the aim of preventing them from entering the system. MIRACLE provides skill training, English training, counselling and financial assistance for education for 40 children in Trivandrum District.
