INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY OBSERVANCE

Thiruvananthapuram Railway CHILDLINE observed International Girl Child Day at Govt. Chalai HSS

Railway CHILDLINE took a group photo which included Head Mistress Mrs. Mini, the students of Govt. Chalai HSS and CHD Staff.

On 11th October 2022 Railway Childline Thiruvananthapuram observed International Girl Child Day and thereby conducted a program in Govt. High School Chalai. The program was based on the theme ‘Our Time is now – Our Right, Our Future ‘.

The day raises awareness of issues girls face internationally, such as education, nutrition, forced child marriage, legal rights, and medical rights. The program begun with the welcome speech which was delivered by Ms. Aiswarya Lawrence (Team member RCHD). Presidential address was delivered by Mrs. Mini (Headmistress, Govt. High School, Chalai) she expressed her gratitude towards the service given by RCHD team members. She observed all activities and noted that all children were participated actively and she happily thanked all our RCHD members for taking the efforts.

 Key note address was given by Mrs. Zeenasunil (Coordinator RCHD). She discussed about the importance of cerebrating International Girl Child Day, she added that still in the contemporary society we can found discrimination elements against girl children. Mrs. Zeena (Coordinator, RCHD) introduced the theme of International Girl Child Day ‘Our Time is Now- Our Right, Our Future ’.The theme which will change every year. After inauguration, the program was started more than 25 students were participated in programs. A drawing competition was conducted according to the theme. More than a competition the Childline team focused encouraging children as well as spreading the theme of International Girl Child Day. All the children were actively cooperated with the program. The prizes were distributed to the students by Head Mistress Ms. Mini and RCHD Coordinator, Mrs. Zeena Sunil. The program was concluded by the Vote of Thanks, which was delivered by Roshama (Team member RCHD).

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
