The 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees was celebrated with great enthusiasm and commitment on September 24, 2023, at the Sebastian Indian Social Projects (SISP) in honour of migrants and refugees. This event was organized as an initiative of the Don Bosco Veedu Society and Sebastian Indian Social Projects, with the collaboration of Don Bosco veedu Society.

The event commenced at 11:00 AM at the SISP premises, where a diverse group of attendees, including migrants, refugees, local community members, and volunteers, gathered to recognize the contributions of migrants and to emphasize the importance of respecting their rights. The day’s activities aimed to promote the idea that individuals should be free to choose whether to migrate or stay in their home countries.

The event featured a range of cultural performances, including mime, group songs, and dance programs. These performances celebrated the rich diversity of cultures represented by the migrants and refugees, highlighting their unique talents and traditions. In addition to cultural performances, various recreational games and activities were organized to create a sense of community and foster interaction among attendees. These games provided a platform for people from different backgrounds to bond and share their experiences. Throughout the event, there were informational sessions and discussions about the challenges faced by migrants and refugees, as well as the importance of upholding their rights. This served as a platform for advocacy and raised awareness about the issues affecting these communities.

The 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees at SISP was a resounding success, bringing together people from various backgrounds to celebrate diversity and emphasize the importance of respecting the rights of migrants and refugees. The collaborative efforts of the Don Bosco Veedu Society and Sebastian Indian Social Projects ensured that the event was not only enjoyable but also meaningful one, promoting a message of unity, understanding, and compassion.
