Don Bosco Veedu hosted a spirited friendly football match yesterday, bringing together students who are beneficiaries of the Awake project in a unique celebration of unity and togetherness. The event, designed to foster a sense of belonging and engagement, witnessed enthusiastic participation and vibrant energy on the field.
A total of six teams competed in the match, with students grouped in a way that encouraged collaboration and harmony. The matches featured children from Classes 5 to 10, showcasing not only their sporting skills but also their sportsmanship and team spirit. After an exciting series of matches, Team Sunlight emerged as the winners, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.
The programme was inaugurated with a welcome address by Ms. Kavya, Project In-Charge of Keen & Awake. Coordinators Ms. Parvathy Renjan and Mr. Sijo Abraham ensured the smooth conduct of the match, with rules clearly communicated and followed by all participants.
Alongside the football match, Don Bosco Veedu also launched its “Bodhi” awareness programme, coordinated by Ms. Parvathy Renjan and Mr. Sijo Abraham The Bodhi programme aims to create meaningful platforms for community cultural exchange and engagement, encouraging students and families to connect, share, and grow together. Its core objective is to strengthen relationships, break down barriers, and promote a spirit of inclusiveness.
By blending sports and awareness, the initiative highlighted the power of both physical activity and cultural dialogue in building stronger communities. The afternoon, which began at 11:30 am and concluded by 2:00 pm, became more than just a football match—it was a celebration of belonging, learning, and togetherness, marking yet another step towards empowerment and growth.
