In a concerted effort to enhance the skills and knowledge of teachers associated with the Student Police Cadets (SPC), DREAM Trivandrum collaborated with SPC Trivandrum district to conduct a comprehensive one-day training program. This event served as a testament to the profound impact of DREAM Trivandrum’s effective interventions and comprehensive initiatives with State cell of students police cadet. The training program marked the culmination of an extensive series of training sessions conducted across all fourteen districts of Kerala.

This endeavor aimed to equip teachers with vital insights and strategies to address pertinent issues among students while fostering a secure and supportive learning environment. The inauguration of the program marked a significant moment, graced by the esteemed presence of Smt Shaniba Beegam, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Trivandrum. The event was presided over by Fr. Philip Parakkat, the Director of DREAM Kerala, adding a prestigious dimension to the proceedings. Fr. Saji Elambaseril, Director of Don Bosco Veedu Society, Shri Zaju D, and Shri Devakumar, ADNO SPC Trivandrum city and rural respectively, extended felicitations, acknowledging the collective efforts and impactful sessions conducted throughout the day.

Shri Sigy Antony, the Vice Principal of TRADA, led the training sessions, focusing on two critical topics: “Substances used by children and its impact” and “Identification of issues, symptoms, and reformative interventions.” Through these sessions, teachers were empowered with knowledge and methodologies to effectively address substance abuse issues among students and identify behavioral patterns necessitating intervention and support. The valedictory function was graced by the presence of Shri E Balakrishnan, whose participation added to the overall success and significance of the event. During this closing ceremony, accolades were extended to the program contributors. The training program witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 99 teachers who actively engaged in the sessions, fostering an environment conducive to learning and collaboration. Their commitment and dedication towards equipping themselves with necessary tools to better guide and mentor the Student Police Cadets reflected a shared commitment to the well-being and development of the student community.

This collaborative initiative between DREAM Trivandrum and SPC Trivandrum district stands as a testament to the collective endeavor to empower educators, thereby strengthening the foundations for a safer and more informed student populace within the community.
