DREAM Trivandrum, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, conducted an awareness session for Anganwadi workers in the Trivandrum district. The program aimed to educate Anganwadi workers about the rising issues of addiction among children and youth, providing insights into the signs and symptoms of addiction and offering strategies for prevention and support for affected children and their families.
The session was attended by 60 Anganwadi workers from various centers across the district, with representatives from the Department of Women and Child Development also in attendance, highlighting the collaborative effort. Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, led the session. This awareness session was a pivotal step in empowering Anganwadi workers to tackle the pressing issue of addiction among the younger population.
DREAM – Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring, a rights-based initiative by Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society and Bangalore Rural Education And Development Society, aims to reduce drug and addiction prevalence among children and youth through preventive education, counseling, and de-addiction services.
