DREAM Trivandrum recently conducted an awareness program at Government High School
Kallara, to inform students about the dangers of drug addiction and its harmful effects. The
session covered key topics such as understanding addiction, its impact on health and
behavior, the science behind how addiction works, and common challenges faced by
teenagers. The students actively engaged in the session, asking questions and participating in
discussions.
The session was led by Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms.
Anooja R, Counselor at DREAM Trivandrum. Both provided clear insights into the risks of
addiction and offered practical tips to avoid substance use. The goal was to educate students
about the importance of making healthy choices and staying away from drugs.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring) is an initiative by BREADS
(Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society), working in partnership with the
Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society. The project aims to reduce drug addiction among
children and youth through free education, counseling, and de-addiction services. By offering
these services at no cost, the initiative hopes to create a safer, drug-free environment for
young people.
