An important program on drug abuse was held at NSS Higher Secondary School, Kesavadasapuram, organized by the DREAM Project. The goal was to teach students about the dangers of drugs and why staying drug-free is essential. The program was led by Ms. Neha Joseph, the Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms. Anooja , the counsellor with DREAM. They explained how drugs can harm not just the body but also the mind and relationships with others. The event began with a presentation that used clear pictures and simple examples to show how drugs can damage health, affect mental well-being, and limit future opportunities. Real-life stories were shared to help students understand the serious effects of drug addiction.
A key part of the program was its interactive style, which allowed students to join in and ask questions. They discussed their thoughts and challenges, like handling peer pressure. Ms. Neha also talked about how to recognize early signs of addiction and stressed the importance of getting help from trusted adults or counsellors. This program at NSS Higher Secondary School, Kesavadasapuram showed the DREAM Project’s commitment to a drug-free society.
