A drug awareness program was conducted Govt. ITI, Attipra, under the DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) Project. The session aimed to educate students on the risks of drug abuse and the importance of making informed and responsible decisions. The session was led by Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms. Anooja, Counselor with DREAM. They explained how substance abuse can negatively affect physical and mental health, academic performance, career growth, and relationships. The session began with a visual presentation featuring real-life examples and data on drug use among young adults. The facilitators discussed how addiction can lead to serious health problems, financial struggles, legal issues, and social isolation.

They also highlighted the impact of peer pressure, stress, and curiosity in influencing substance use. Students were encouraged to actively participate through discussions and interactive activities. The facilitators provided guidance on recognizing the early signs of addiction and adopting healthy ways to handle peer influence and stress. They also emphasized the importance of seeking help from professionals, mentors, or family members when facing such challenges. The students showed great interest, engaging in discussions and asking insightful questions about addiction, recovery, and prevention. The session gave them valuable knowledge and practical strategies to make better life choices.

This awareness program at Govt.ITI, Attipra reinforced the DREAM Project’s commitment to promoting a drug-free society by educating and empowering young individuals for a healthier and more responsible future.
