An awareness program on drug abuse was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kottukal under the DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) Project. The session was led by Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms. Anooja, Counselor with DREAM. They explained how drug use affects physical health, mental well-being, academic performance, and relationships with family and friends. The session started with a visual presentation using real-life examples and pictures to show the dangers of drug abuse. The facilitators spoke about how addiction can cause serious health issues, disturb family life, and reduce future opportunities. The program was interactive, encouraging students to participate in discussions. They learned how to deal with peer pressure and recognize early signs of addiction. The facilitators also advised students to seek help from trusted adults, teachers, or counselors if they face such challenges. The students actively participated, asked questions, and showed curiosity about drug addiction and its effects. The session gave them valuable knowledge and practical ways to make better choices. This awareness program at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kottukal strengthened the DREAM Project’s mission to create a drug-free society by educating and guiding young people.
