FINSPIRE, an Annual Inter-Care Home Cultural Festival, was held at Travancore Convention Centre, Kariyavattom, on October 1, 2022, by FINASTRA ESG. All the children at Don Bosco Nivas and children who are the beneficiaries of the MIRACLE project attended the event, including Mr. Immanuel (Educator, Don Bosco Nivas), Mr. Abhijith (Coordinator, Don Bosco Nivas), Ms. Ann Mary (Coordinator, MIRACLE), Mr. Sam (Social Media Coordinator) and Mr. Thomas (Staff. Don Bosco Nivas).
The event was inaugurated by Shri. V Muraleedharan (Minister of State for External Affairs Parliamentary Affairs of India). The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri. Kadakampally Surendran (Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly).
The children participated in various items, including story-writing, painting, solo dance, solo music, group dance, skit performance and group song. Out of the ten care homes that participated, the children from Don Bosco Nivas bagged 1st prize for skit performance and story-writing and 3rd prize for the group dance. The children were on cloud nine when the results were announced as this was a result of month-long planning, practice and hard work.
Don Bosco Nivas is a temporary shelter home that provides care and protection to children who are in need, mainly runaway and rescued children. MIRACLE is a project that provides educational assistance and skill training to children deprived of primary caregivers to promote kinship foster care. FINSPIRE was a marvellous experience for the children as they are often marginalized from mainstream society and lack opportunities.
