Don Bosco, Thiruvananthapuram: In a joyous commemoration of unwavering service and dedication, Don Bosco NGO celebrated its feast amidst heartfelt tributes and reflections on its impactful journey. The Don Bosco feast 2024 and Silver Jubilee celebration of Fr. Jiji Kalavanal, Rector held at Don Bosco Veedu on 30 and 31 January 2024 brought people together to honour the organisation’s profound contributions to the community. On 30th January, 70 families from the neighbourhood, former staff of Don Bosco and police officers were invited. The program started with a prayer and a brief overview of the agency. The program concluded with a music program and dinner.
On 31st January, the program started with a prayer service headed by Ms. Neha & Ms. Anooja. Mr. Manuel George, Programme Manager of Don Bosco, delivered the words of welcome. The introductory message was delivered by Fr. Saji Elambasseril SDB, Director of Don Bosco Veedu Society. After the introductory speech, the staff honoured and gave tribute to Fr. Jiji Kalavanal SDB. Mr. Immanuel Sailas and all staff of Don Bosco sang the Jubilee Anthem. Chief Guest CWC Chairperson Ms. Shaniba Begum delivered the message. A group song was sung by the children residing in Don Bosco. The felicitation was given by Fr. Sebastian SDB, Ms Neha Joseph, and Mr. Pramod. A short film was released by Fr. Jiji Kalavanal. The program had cultural events like a Saxophone Performance by Fr.Dominic Kaniyantharayil, Assistant Director of Don Bosco, a Chain Song performed by all staff of Don Bosco and Dance by Internship Students. After cultural events, Jubilarian gave the reply speech. The program concluded with a music performance.
