Day Observance of International Child Helpline

Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline observed International Child Helpline Day at Central Station, TVC

Railway Child Help Desk took a group photo with children and parents who reached Central Station. We gave awareness about the importance of International Child Helpline Day.

On 17^th May 2023, Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline observed International Child Helpline Day at Center Railway Station, TVC. The day observed by the following theme “Every child has a voice. We believe that no child should be left unheard”. Railway Childline took the initiative to do mass awareness program by giving information about Childline to the public. By this awareness team gave awareness session about the importance of about Child Helpline Number 1098, Child Rights protection, & Childline activities. The awareness was performed all platforms and even inside the trains also. The Program was reaches all the passengers from children to adults. During the awareness program respected RPF, RRP, TTE & other Railway Officials also participated.

International Child Helpline Day takes place on May 17 every year. The holiday is dedicated to celebrating the work of child help lines all around the world. The efforts of these workers ensure that children and youth in need are listened to and assisted in a timely manner. Millions of children contact the network of child help lines asking for support. Suggestions have been made through the analysis of child helpline data from 181 countries, to make policy changes for the improvement of children’s lives. Child help lines hold various activities and celebrations to highlight their work and achievements. This helps to enhance public awareness.

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
