CRICKET TOURNAMENT AT NETTOOR

Excise department in association with MHD Angamaly & MHD Ernakulam of KISMAT Project organized a Cricket tournament in Maradu Municipality, Ernakulam.

Shri. Antony Ashanparambil (Maradu Municipality Chairperson) inaugurated the programme with a motivational speech and inspiring the teams who participated in the tournament.

As part of the Excise department program, MHD Angamaly & MHD Ernakulam of KISMAT Project organized a Cricket tournament in Maradu Municipality on 22^nd January 2023. The audience included the migrants from Nettoor, Chittoor and Maradu area which all the places come under the Ernakulam Excise region. Only few interventions have happened in these areas, after building good rapport with them we came up with the idea of conducting this Cricket match. Most of them are very much interested in playing Cricket. The coordinator’s requested the Shri. Prince Babu, C. I Ernakulam Excise to arrange a match, and he seemed interested and in his own initiative connected both KISMAT and Municipality to organize this match and also arranged the ground for us. Four teams registered for the match, organized in Maradu Mangayil school ground. Shri. Antony Ashanparambil, Chairperson, Maradu Municipality, Shri. P D Rajesh, Vice Chairman, Shri. Prince Babu, C. I Excise Department and Smt. Baby Paul, ward counselor attended in the tournament. The Excise team has been very supportive throughout the tournament. The inaugural session was carried out around 9:30am by Shri. Antony Ashanparambil, Chairperson, Maradu Municipality, following this the first match was played around 10:00am. In the afternoon, around 2:00pm the final match was played and it got over around 4:30pm. The winning team and runners up team received their respective trophies and also presented them with new bat and ball as well. Refreshments were provided to participants throughout the tournament. In short, it was quite a memorable day to recall in future.
