KISMAT observed World Environment Day focusing on ‘living sustainably in harmony with nature on June 6th 2022, by organizing a Clean-up Drive at KSRTC Thampanoor in collaboration with the District Transport Department. Saplings were also planted to signify sustainability. The program was inaugurated by Shri Lopas, District Transport Officer, Trivandrum. Rev. Fr. Saji Elambaseril, Director of Don Bosco Veedu Society, and Shri Shaju and Shri Rajesh, Assistant Transport Officers, guided the team. The staff members from Don Bosco Veedu Society and Trivandrum KSRTC marked their presence and contributed to the cause.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5th every year. Clean-up drives help to ignite social responsibility in every individual. The whole kismat staffs and kismat beneficiaries, that is, migrant labourers, were also present. KISMAT and Municipal Corporation cleaning team did a hygienic and organized cleaning around the KSRTC bus stand. They planted and watered the plants around the place, creating awareness of the importance of waste management and cleanliness among the people.
KISMAT is a project under the Don Bosco Veedu Society for the welfare of migrant labourers.
