DREAM Trivandrum, in collaboration with the Student Police Cadets (SPC) Trivandrum City, organized a comprehensive campaign aimed at raising awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and addiction within the community. The campaign was structured to engage participants in various educational and creative activities, fostering a multifaceted approach to tackle this prevalent issue. A gallery-style exhibition was organized, showcasing paintings and artworks themed around the message of anti-drug awareness. Local artists and participants contributed their creations to visually communicate the dangers of drug abuse and addiction. This activity can be termed as the follow-up activity carried out by DREAM Trivandrum as the painting was created as part of the campaign organized by the team during the last implementation period. SPC cadets participated in a poster-making competition, displaying their artistic talents while creating posters that conveyed strong messages against drug abuse. This initiative aimed to involve young minds in spreading awareness through artistic expression. The competition was initiated on the topic, influence of drugs and human beings. Six of the posters were chosen as the best among the 400 and those students were presented with prizes. An awareness sessions was conducted in the SPC district camp to enlighten students about the detrimental effects of drugs on physical health, mental well-being, and social life. The team members of DREAM Trivandrum led the sessions and the team provided valuable insights, statistics, and real-life examples to emphasize the severity of the issue. The campaign concluded with a cultural night, featuring performances, and artistic presentations by the assistant director of Don Bosco Veedu Society, Fr Dominic Kaniyantharayil. The event was designed to entertain while reinforcing the anti-drug message through various creative performances, tying together the campaign’s core objectives with a memorable and engaging experience.

The collaborative effort between DREAM Trivandrum and SPC Trivandrum City in organizing this campaign proved to be impactful in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction. Through a combination of artistic expression, educational sessions, and a culminating cultural event, the campaign successfully delivered its message to the community. The engagement and involvement of various stakeholders, including students, cadets, and artists, contributed significantly to the campaign’s success in achieving its objectives. The endeavor stands as a testament to the power of collective efforts in addressing societal issues and fostering a healthier, more informed community.
