DREAM Trivandrum recently conducted a detailed awareness session at Government High
School Koduvazhanoor aimed at educating students about the dangers and consequences of
drug addiction. The session focused on several critical areas, including understanding what
addiction is, how it impacts both mental and physical health, the science behind addiction,
and the specific challenges teenagers face during adolescence. The interactive format allowed
students to engage in open discussions, share their thoughts, and ask questions, making the
session highly engaging.
The program was led by Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms.
Anooja R, Counselor at DREAM Trivandrum, who provided in-depth explanations on the
risks of addiction and its long-term effects on both personal and academic life. They also
highlighted how peer pressure and environmental factors can influence drug use and gave
practical advice on how students can make informed decisions to avoid substance abuse. The
session aimed to empower the students with knowledge to help them make healthier, more
responsible choices.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring) is a project run by BREADS
