A dedicated group of students contributes to the creation of a virtuous society, characterized by honesty, political equilibrium, economic stability, and strong moral principles. A nation built on integrity endures through time, and students are the future custodians of their country’s values. Staying informed about current trends on various topics is crucial, especially as teenage brains are still developing and tend to be more oriented towards rewards and risk-taking compared to adults. Simultaneously, teenagers seek greater independence as they explore their identities. In line with this, DREAM Trivandrum collaborated to organize an awareness program for students at the Government UP School Poojapura. Trivandrum District, on September 18, 2023. This initiative received enthusiastic support from both students and staff at the school. Adolescents who experiment with drugs and other substances jeopardize their health and safety, as the teenage brain is particularly susceptible to being influenced by substances that stimulate the brain’s reward circuits. Preventing teen drug abuse involves engaging in conversations with teenagers about the consequences of drug use and the importance of making healthy choices. These programs also aim to enhance performance, raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug use, and teach effective mood and emotion management. The ultimate goal is to create a global society free from drug abuse while focusing on psychosocial development, not just the prevention of drug use, as it has the potential to enhance various aspects of an individual’s growth.”

An interactive session was carried out for the students by Ms Neha Joseph, and Ms Anooja R Coordinator and Counsellor DREAM Trivandrum Respectively
