ANTI – TOBACCO DAY 2023

MHD Kottayam in association with DLSA, KSACS and Skyline Builders organized an awareness session highlighting the dangers of tobacco use were conducted for guest workers as part of observing Anti – Tobacco Day.

An awareness session was organised by the Migrant Help Desk Kottayam in collaboration with DLSA (District Legal Services Authority), KSACS (Kerala State AIDS Control Society) and Skyline Builders highlighting the dangers of Tobacco use as part of observing Anti – Tobacco Day at their worksite in Kanjikuzhy, Kottayam. The session was led by Adv. Vineetha Narayan, Panel Member, DLSA, Kottayam. She basically spoke on the consequences of consuming Tobacco products and all the legal aspects related to it in simple words so that migrants could understand it. She emphasized on NDPS (The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act 1985 and the charges that can be imposed on a person who is found guilty under this act. The class was translated in Hindi by Mr. Baiju Janardanan, Project Manager, and KSACS. After the class a pledge was recited by all migrants led by Adv. Vineetha Narayan In the end, Vote of thanks was delivered by Migrant Help Desk Kottayam. Around 70 migrants participated in this programme.
