Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline organized CHILDLINE Se Dosti Week program named as SURAKSHITHA BALYAM 2022 on 19th November 2022 at Central Railway Station, TVC. The program was started with Flash mob by BSW Students of National College, TVM. Welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Zeena Sunil (Coordinator, Railway Childline). She welcomed all the dignitaries in the dais.  The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Shaniba Beegam, (Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Thiruvananthapuram). In her words, “Railway Child Help Desk providing care and protection for the child and every child is very important to us” Rev. Fr. Jiji Kalavanal (Rector, Don Bosco Veedu Society) presided over the ceremony. He expressed the gratitude towards the program.   The Keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Chitralekha, (District Protection Officer, Thiruvananthapuram).  She spoke about the importance of collaborative work on the front of child protection through legislation. To light up the event, the theme song was presented by Mr. Jayan (RPF Officer, TVC) on the theme of drug prevention and also by Mrs. Amala PC (Volunteer, Railway Childline TVC) on the theme Child Labor.

A live quiz competition was organized in association with the DREAM Project to propagate the prevention of drug usage in youths and also to introduce the DREAM project to the public including the chief guests and the Railway Officials. This was followed by a mega quiz event, where the prize for the same was distributed by the CWC Chairperson. Many people take part in this competition and it was mediated by Neha Joseph, (District Coordinator, DREAM Project).

The Pledge related to anti- drug usage vocalized by Mr. Ajith Kumar (Inspector, RPF, TVC). Everyone including passengers were took the pledge.  The felicitation was given to the program by Mr. Joy B R (Commercial Manager, TVC), Mr. Babloo (Station Master, TVC), Mr. Biju Kumar (SHO, GRP) and Mr. Manuel George (Program Manager, Don Bosco Veedu Society). The program was concluded with Street play by National College BSW Students related to Child Trafficking. The Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Jeffin John (Team Member, Railway Childline) and the program was hosted by Ms. Aiswarya Lawrence (Team member, RCHD, TVC).

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
