Childline

CHILDLINE is a 24-hour free emergency outreach service for children in distress under the ministry of Women and Child Development with the support of Non-profits and different Government departments. Toll-free number 1098 is used to reach the distress message to the CHILDLINE call center connected to each district intervention unit. The first CHILDLINE in Kerala was under the initiative of the Don Bosco Veedu Society.

Mission

CHILDLINE’s focus is to attain every child in need and ensure their rights and protection through the Four Cs;

  • CONNECT through technology to reach the ‘last mile.’
  • CATALYSE systems through active advocacy.
  • COLLABORATE through integrated efforts between children, the state, civil society, corporate, and the community to build a child-friendly social order.
  • COMMUNICATE to make child protection everybody’s priority.

Railway Childline

This venture is for the care and protection of children who land at the railway station. We work in collaboration with the Indian Railway. The Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Ministry of Railways have jointly taken the initiative to ensure the care and protection, security, and well-being of run-away, unaccompanied, and trafficked children who come in contact with the railways.
