Adolescence is a time period when they adolescents go through a lot of physical, mental and social changes so it is very normal to have heightened emotions while puberty (Emily Swaim,2022). There are many reasons why adolescents get anger issues and easily frustrated and one of them are hormonal changes. Hormonal imbalance can contribute to mood swings and related disturbances. Adolescence is period when adolescents have a great confusion in their identity and role in this society. Adolescents also struggle with self-esteem and feel they are not fit for anything this can lead to increased irritability and cause more insecurities. They may also find it difficult to adjust with the physical changes taking place in their body. Families also play a major role in an adolescent’s emotional well-being. Parental neglect and restricting the child too much can contribute to increased irritability and anger issues. Adolescents in this age should be given much support and make them understand their flaws and accept them. Adolescents also have difficulty managing their emotions and lack effective coping skills. Although anger is a common and natural emotion, there is nothing serious to worry about it. But it is important to seek medical support if the anger proceeds, because it can be symptoms of any mental health conditions such as depression, ADHD, anxiety disorders. It is so crucial to provide support, counselling and essential needs for the adolescents and to accept them the way they are.
