
The Saturday camp “UJWAL”, organised under the auspices of Don Bosco Veedu Society, was inaugurated with the inspiring theme “Let every child shine.” The camp was designed to foster creativity, social bonding, leadership, and enthusiasm for learning among children.
The programme began with a prayer song by the students, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Sritha, a student representative. Fr. Thomas Meckaden, Director of Don Bosco Veedu, presided over the function.
The camp was formally inaugurated and its name revealed by Mr. Unnikrishnan, Attukal Ward Councillor, who emphasized in his speech the importance of such camps in shaping the future of children. Br. Manuvvel offered felicitations, appreciating the initiative.
Following this, Fr. Thomas Meckaden conducted an awareness session highlighting the importance of children growing into responsible individuals, making use of engaging activities. The group activities and games witnessed enthusiastic participation from the children, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Jineesha Carmel K.J. and Ms. Agnes Juliet, social work interns, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct and success of the camp. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Abel, a student representative.
Filled with the smiles and energy of the children, the camp truly reflected the spirit of its tagline: “Let every child shine.”
