Children with staff of Don Bosco in Ponumudi

Don Bosco Veedu Society organized a one-day tour for children at the shelter home to Meenmutty and Ponmudi on 8th May 2022. Both places were visited on the same day. First, they saw Meenmutty waterfalls near Ponmudi hill station, where children enjoyed the waterfalls and the small natural pools. Second, they visited Ponumdi, also known as Kashmir of Kerala, where children engaged in sightseeing.

A day trip has always fascinated individuals; it helps them recharge, connect with new people and provide a sense of escape from harsh realities. However, when we look into the children’s case, they need trips much more than adults. It instils feelings to explore, creating more compassion and acceptance.

Throughout the day, children enjoyed themselves to the fullest; they engaged in group swimming, dancing, singing, etc. Overall, this trip brought a sense of content for them after all that they had been through. They were accompanied by the staff of Don Bosco Shelter Home. They reached back on the same day in the evening.
