Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline conducted an awareness session to Kerala Express Pantry car staff on 6th July 2022. The session was handled by Mrs. Zeena Sunil (Coordinator, RCHD) where she briefly explained Childline and its activities. Ms. Roshma Mary and Ms. Aiswarya Lawrence distributed pamphlets and Childline brochures to the pantry staff. 20 members were actively participated in the session.
Through this sensitization session, the pantry car staff will be made aware about railway childline help desk and its activities and they will be able to notify RCHD team when they see a child in need of care. Through this, the pantry staff will be able to spread awareness about RCHD to other staffs and people they come across. Community sensitization is effective in providing first-hand, reliable information to communities as the information is cascaded to those who could not attend the sessions.
Railway Child Help Desk runs in 4 districts across Kerala (Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Calicut) which help in finding child who is missing/lost child, runaway child, working child, child found to be begging, trafficked, out of school, orphan, child affected by substance, sexually abused child, child with special needs (physically/ mentally challenged), child in conflict with apprehended for petty offences, serious offence, heinous offence, any other street family, counselling, broken family etc.
