A campaign was organised on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Shankumugham beach by DREAM Trivandrum. Around 1500 people were present for the signature campaign, street play and gathering. Mr Sati Kumar CI, Shankumugham police station, inaugurated the drive, and it was presided over by Rev. Fr. Saji Elambaserril, Director of Don Bosco Veedu Society.
Shankumugham is one of the most frequently visited beaches and tourist spots in the Trivandrum district. The prevalence of drugs is high in this area. DREAM Trivandrum created awareness for over 1500 people in this area, creating a significant impact.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring) is a project that envisions reducing drug prevalence among school and college students. As of now, the project was able to cover almost 45 schools and more than twelve thousand students
