In an effort to tackle the rising concerns of drug addiction among youth, DREAM Trivandrum organized an awareness program at Christ Nagar College Maranaloor. The program focused on the harsh realities of drug addiction, including its impact on both mental and physical health, the science behind addiction, and the unique challenges young adults face in this regard. The session was structured to be interactive, encouraging students to actively engage and reflect on the content.
Leading the session were Ms. Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum, and Ms. Anooja R, Counselor at DREAM Trivandrum, who offered critical insights into the consequences of drug addiction and practical prevention strategies. They addressed the long-term risks associated with substance abuse and shared guidance on making informed choices to safeguard health and well-being.
DREAM (Drug Rehabilitation Education and Mentoring) is an initiative by BREADS (Bangalore Rural Education and Development Society) in partnership with the Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society, aimed at reducing drug usage among youth through education, counseling, and de-addiction support. All services are provided free of charge, reinforcing DREAM’s mission to foster a drug-free community and support young people in making positive life choices.
This program served as a significant step in raising awareness among college students, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to avoid risky behaviors and advocate for healthier lifestyles.
