DREAM Trivandrum in collaboration with SPC Trivandrum City organized a Leadership
Training Program for the SPC Cadets in Trivandrum City. 80 student leaders from 40
different schools attended the program. The ambassadors training program organised by
DREAM intended to enhance the leadership skills among the students by redefining their
goals to the success.
The program was inaugurated by Shri. Aji Chandran Nair, ACP of the Narcotics Cell, who
spoke passionately about the role of young leaders in the struggle against drug abuse. Rev. Fr.
Joby S , Director of the Don Bosco Veedu Society presided the inaugural ceremony. Shri.
Shivakumar V. R, Circle Inspector of Fort Police Station, and Shri. Zaju Additional Nodal
Officer of SPC Trivandrum City, Ms Neha Joseph Coordinator DREAM Trivandrum, Ms
Anooja R, Counsellor, DREAM Trivandrum expressed their wishers for the student leaders
and to their commitment to the social change.
The major attraction of the leadership training program was the sessions organised. Which
was meant to enhance the leadership skills among the students. The sessions were led by Sri
Sigy Antony, Vice principal, TRADA. Shri. Antony motivated the volunteers by conducting
interactive sessions. He organized them into groups and encouraged them to develop “dream
boards” that illustrated their objectives. His sessions on anti-drug training, leadership
development, and career development were both engaging and inspiring.
Shri. Biju (Assistant State Nodal Officer of SPC) and Rev. Fr. George PS ( Executive
Director of BREADS), delivered speeches during the valedictory ceremony, which was a
fitting end to the day. The student leaders were left with a renewed sense of purpose in
contributing to a drug-free, responsible society and valuable leadership skills.
