In line with the theme “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention,” DREAM Trivandrum,
in collaboration with the Students Police Cadets (SPC) Girls Unit of Pattom School, SPC
Trivandrum City, observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
with a series of impactful events.
The program commenced with an official gathering, where Shri Sabuji M, SHO of the
Medical College Police Station, inaugurated the event. Shri Vinayan, PTA President of
Government Model Girls HSS, Pattom, presided over the gathering, emphasizing the crucial
role of educational institutions in fostering awareness and prevention. The event was
felicitated by Shri Zaju D, ADNO of SPC Trivandrum City, Satheesh, Vice Principal, Shri K
Lilas, Principal, and Neha Joseph, Coordinator of DREAM Trivandrum.
Participants took an oath, pledging their commitment to stay drug-free and to advocate for a
drug-free community. This was followed by a placard-making activity, where students
creatively expressed their messages against drug abuse. These placards served as powerful
tools for awareness generation and were displayed prominently during the event.
The program had a significant reach, engaging approximately 200 students. Through these
activities, DREAM Trivandrum and the SPC Girls Unit aimed to educate and empower the
youth, reinforcing the importance of preventive measures in the fight against drug abuse and
illicit trafficking.
