Children’s Day, celebrated worldwide, stands as a reminder to cherish and nurture the innocence, potential, and happiness of our younger generation. However, amidst the festivities and merriment, it’s crucial to recognize and address the pressing challenges that today’s children face, notably the pervasive issue of drugs and addiction. DREAM Trivandrum observed children’s day with the mentioned theme at St Marys high school Vettukad. As we commemorate Children’s Day, it’s incumbent upon us as a society to take concrete steps to protect our children from the detrimental effects of substance abuse. This begins with education and awareness programs tailored to their age groups, imparting knowledge about the dangers of drugs and fostering a supportive environment where they feel comfortable discussing these issues openly. Ms Neha Joseph, Coordinator DREAM Trivandrum, Ms Anooja R, Counsellor, DREAM Trivandrum initiated the session for the students.
DREAM- Drug Rehabilitation Education And Mentoring is the right based initiative of Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society in collaboration with Bangalore Rural Education And Development Society, which focuses to reduce the prevalence of drugs and other forms of addiction among children and youth.
