Palakkad Migrants’ Help Desk worked on the realizing the fact that the students should not be deprived on their education due to lack of educational materials. It was apprehended from the data collected from the district that many of the guest workers in the district struggle to send their offspring to school even many are excelled in their studies. The Desk took it as challenge and sought the assistance from many who all were whole heartedly support which culminated to organize a function to honor the excellent students an distribute educational support material to guest workers children at Pudussery Grama Panjayath auditorium on 16th July 2023.
The program began with the introductory note on the major purpose of the program, brief on the project KISMAT and welcomed everyone to the program by the Palakkad Migrants’ Help Desk coordinator Shri. Shanoy P M followed by the presidential address by the Pudussery Panjayath President Shri. Ajish. He advised the students to make use all the support they receive for their own betterment and for the development of the society. The program was inaugurated by the Pudussery Grama Panjayath President Smt. Praseetha where she spoke on strong support of the Kerala government for the guest workers and for their children. She also congratulated the excellent performers in the +2 exam and presented them with mementos and gift. The students of MSW department from Mercy College performed a special program which made the function something unique. There were many other dignitaries who felicitated and congratulated the students for scoring high in the exam and motivated other students to acquire inspiration from their senior brethren. The first educational support kit was presented by the Panjayth President and then followed by KISMAT district coordinator. There were about 60 students from different classes to receive the kits. The program was concluded by the vote of thanks by the Salvation Army Migrants’ Suraksha Project counsellor Shri. Adith.
The program was really a spark of motivation for the many pupils to work for their dream to score high in every exam and to be awarded for their had work. The program also became a solace for the parents to go ahead in providing better education to their kids and many a parents and teachers appreciated KISMAT for the initiatives to support the migrants children.
